The Association Corazón y Vida has two other flats in Madrid and another in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, which have been opened thanks to the collaboration of the Government of the Canary Islands and the Council of Tenerife. This is the first time that the organisation has the help of the Adrián Hoteles Foundation, a non-profit organisation that aims to support other entities for the development of activities and projects to improve social, economic and educational needs.

Pilar Domínguez indicated that the idea of opening this fourth floor arose from the numerous demands of families who came to the association requesting a place to stay when they had to go to hospitals in Tenerife. Although a few months ago that this space is providing service, the president of the association said that in flats like those in Madrid, "there is already a waiting list". And, so far this year, the association has favored 94 transfers to Madrid and almost 40 to Gran Canaria.

The Heart and Life Association, which brings together family members and patients with congenital heart disease and who currently represents 4.000 Canarian families, also offers psychological support to its users. For all this, Dominguez celebrated yesterday as an "important day for our association, which is looking to continue growing to be able to continue helping those who need it most".

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the vice president of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Aurelio Abreu, who highlighted the long relationship of the Island Corporation with the Heart and Life Association, which "is able to reach where the administrations are not able to reach » In this regard, he acknowledged that "the Administrations still have to do an important job in this regard because this association gives us life lessons every day".

For his part, the president of the Canary Islands Government, Fernando Clavijo, thanked the "altruistic work" of Corazón y Vida and asked society to "recognize these services, which are more than just an apartment: they are a place to share life and experience and so that users can share their pains and give support. All this is an added value for these floors ».
